Frank Brandon Gaines, an American professional overseas basketball player is a Fort Lauderdale, Florida native.
After successfully graduating from Boyd Anderson High School where he leads the basketball team to the 2008 state finals with his 30-2 record. Earning a full-ride college scholarship to Purdue University Fort Wayne (PFW) located in Indiana. There he made history by becoming the all-time leading scorer along with achieving a long list of memorable accolades. After graduating in 2013 with a bachelor’s in general studies, he was invited to join to NBA D-League. Later he joined the ranks as a professional overseas basketball player where he continues his career to this day.
Frank Gaines made his college career basketball debut for the Mastodons in the 2009–10 season after redshirting his freshman season while he worked tirelessly perfecting his skills and natural talent. During his redshirted freshman season, he surprised his coaches and fellow teammates when he played 31 games (one start), averaging 4.2 points and 2.3 rebounds in 13.4 minutes per game. Upon starting his junior season, he was immediately named part of the All-Summit League’s first team and the NABC All-District second team. During his sophomore season, he went on to earn All-Summit League Honorable Mention for his strategic offensive plays and rebounding force, be became Mastodon’s go-to offensive player. Later on January 31, 2011, he was titled the Summit League Player of the Week. He was set the highest record for 30 games where he averaged 14.8 points and 6.2 rebounds in 27.4 minutes per game. In his senior season, he achieved the All-Summit League first team again making it his second straight year with this honor.
